This year our Active School Week takes place on Tuesday 21st to Friday 24th of June. Check out the timetable below to find out what fun things will be happening in C.B.S that week. This year CBS took part in the girls’ basketball league. Our trainers were Mrs Murphy and Mr Corry. We usually trained two or three times a week during our lunchtime. Training was really enjoyable but we had to be focused for our matches. Our first blitz was in Gaeilscoil National School, where Clarecastle, Barefield, Gaeilscoil and ourselves took part. Our first match was against Gaeilscoil and unfortunately we lost. Next we challenged Barefield and luckily we won. Finally we played Clarecastle and we beat them well. After a long day of playing we were very happy with our victory but sadly we could not go on to the next round in the league, as Gaeilscoil won all their matches. At the end of the day, we were a bit disappointed at the way things turned out but we were all very proud of our performance and truly grateful to represent the school. Overall basketball was a great experience and we think everyone took something from it.
