On Friday 19th May, James was just so excited when he came out to my car. Not only was the upcoming First Holy Communion making him happy, but he had finally got Marco! When we got home, it was all systems go. Lots of preparation went into making James' day special. The bouncy castle arrived at about 4pm and after several hours of bouncing, it was off to bed early to get rested for the big day!!
James had a big sleep in on Saturday morning( which is not like him by the way!!) After a big fry up, we left for the church. The rain began to clear and James couldn't wait to get into St. Joseph's. He was nervous. Marco was tucked safely away in Mom's bag. The Mass was beautiful and a credit to both teachers and students. James and his friends Shaun, Thomas and Tony all posed for a photo with Marco! What beautiful smiles! The spread laid on by the CBS was delicious and parents and grandparents got a chance to catch up. Then home for more celebrations. James' cousins, friends and neighbours helped him celebrate his special day.
Sunday was a lazy day and we spent the morning have a last few bounces. James' little brother Rhían was so upset when the man came to take the bouncy castle away. James' cousins Eve and Ana visited before they went back to Dublin. After tucking into the leftovers from Saturday, it was off to bed early to get ready for Monday. Marco nibbled away on James' corn on the cob . What a fantastic weekend- one that we will never forget .
As we were leaving for school on Monday, we noticed Marco had climbed up on the steamer - a reminder to Mom to get scrubbing !
