Last week we finally got to meet our pen pals from Barefield N.S. Since Christmas we have been writing letters back and forth to our pen pals to try and get to know them. We found out lots of things about them like their favourite games, a bit about their families and what life is like in a different school. They already knew our teacher as she taught them in senior infants but we were really looking forward to meeting their teacher Miss. Quin.
We decided to meet in the Fair Green for a picnic. Our new friends got a bus in from Barefield and we met them in the playground for some lunchtime fun. We had fun asking everyone their name to try and find our pen pals because we didn't know what they looked like. We played on the zip wire, the climbing frame, the high ropes and some of us just sat down and chatted to our pen pals.
When we got hungry we went to the steps in front of the courthouse to have our picnic.
Then to finish we went back to the green for a run around with our new pals. We played soccer, catch & even invented our own new games with our friends.
We were sad to see them go but hopefully we will see them around Ennis during the summer!
