We had great fun looking for 2D shapes all around the school during Maths Week. This class are super Shape Detectives! Here are some photos of their findings!
On Friday the 15th of June we had the best day! We travelled to Liscannor to Moher hill Farm. We got to
The class were so well behaved we even got to go to O'Connors for ice-cream! It was delicious.
Here are some of the highlights of the day:
We had such lovely weather in May, we got to go out and about and investigate the local mini-beasts and flowers. We love learning new words in Room 10 so we went outside to name and find some very unusual items including a flower called Veronica, bluebells, ivy, clocks, dandelions, ants, woodlice, seeds, evergreen leaves, footprints and lots more!
The Super seven had a very important challenge during May. They had to look after 5 VERY hungry caterpillars!! What do you think happened when the hungry caterpillars couldn't eat anymore?
Well here's a poem we learned to teach our friends about it:
First comes the butterfly,
Who lays many eggs.
Out pop some caterpillars
With many legs.
Oh se the caterpillar spin and spin
A little cocoon to sleep in!
Out of cocoon, my oh my!
Out pops a pretty butterfly!!
So just like the poem, we fed and watched the caterpillars spin their cocoons (or chrysalis as VJ loves to say) and moved them to a big habitat. We waited patiently for our butterflies to hatch out and they did! The class had to be so kind and careful, giving the butterflies nectar and sugar and fresh flowers every day. We knew the butterflies wanted to go outside so one sunny day we took them out and let them free into lots of sweet, delicious wild flowers! Here are some pictures of our beautiful butterflies!
We have had a wonderful February and March in Room 10 and here are some of our Highlights!
Pancake Tuesday was such a lovely treat! We are quite the chefs in our class! We each brought in different toppings to try on our delicious Pancakes and they were yummy!
The Super Seven did a fabulous job on their Mother's Day Bouquet Cards. The children put so much thought and effort into making them so special and we hope all the Mum's really enjoyed reading them!
We love Science in our class, especially when we get to test/try out experiments. During March we were learning about Push/Pull and Forces. We tested out lots of push/pull toys and situations but our favourite was the Domino Effect!

During January and February we learned about Procedural Writing.
We talked about recipes and instructions and even wrote our own fabulous recipe for Hot Chocolate!!!!
Ms. Mullins asked the children to suggest something else to write about and she got the shock of her life.
when Alex suggested Slime.... and that's just what we did!
We looked up different recipes, found the ingredients and followed the instructions. We even wrote our own recipe for SLIME which was even better!
You can see some of the behind-the-scenes-slime action below!
December was a very busy months for the Super Seven!
It's safe to say that this class certainly achieved a LOT!
All through December, we worked really hard on our Christmas Vocabulary with out SLT's Eilís and Orlaith and had a fantastic Scavenger Hunt through Ennis Town to find everything on our checklist!
During December we also had a very special Christmas performance. For weeks, the children learned their songs, rhymes and rehearsed their lines. Friends and Family came to the School Hall to sit and watch a wonderful performance of the play 'Lost and Found'. It was fan-tas-tic!
We are so lucky to have our own Language Class in CBS Ennis. There are 7 fantastic children in this class and their teacher is Ms.Mullins. We also have our wonderful SLTs, Eilís and Orlaith, who come to us twice a week to help us with our Speech and Language work. We are always so busy in Room 10!! :-)
