In the C.B.S. Ennis we work in partnership with others to promote a physically active school community. The most important partnership in the Active School Flag programme is with the pupils of the school. Our new Active School Committee met for the first time two weeks ago (18/10/18). The committee is made up of children from each class grouping from 2nd to 6th class.
Our committee members are as follows: 2nd Class: Jessica Coffey, Súin Percil, Ethan Siga 3rd Class: Lauren Hudson, Fatima Jedir, Jack Quinn 4th Class: Liam Mc Allister, Shannon Fitzgerald, Brooke McInerney 5th Class: Dylan Tierney, Gerard Griffen, Stephen Maladina 6th Class: Callum Hayes, Emma Cleary, John Tuohy
Active School Slogan Competition
We held an Active School Slogan Competition in November and after much deliberation the Active School Committee picked Aoife Moylan's slogan as the winner: 'Go Out and Play, Let's Get Active Everyday!'
We have great partnerships with many local sporting clubs, particularly GAA clubs, including The Banner, Éire Óg and Doora-Barefield. These clubs provide great support to our school in many ways and especially in terms of allowing us to use their facilities. Irish Dancing is taught after school along with yoga and Jiu Jitsu.
What Clubs are you in?
Fifth class pupils conducted a 'What Clubs are you in?' survey to find out about physical activity opportunities in the local community. Pupils from 2nd to 6th class were surveyed and the results were analysed by the whole class and then presented on a beautiful bar chart made by Sanjida, Emily and Sophie.
